How to spot bad dll files in the Windows/system32 file structure

First make sure you can view all files by going to Tools and Folder Options, View and Select Show hidden files and folders.

Most hidden dll files in system32 are bad. If fact I do not know of a legit dll that is hidden. Next Right Click over by the Name and select Attributes. Sort by Attributes and see if any of those files are HSA or HA. Not sure what that attribute means but again none of the legit dll files on my system have that attribute. Lastly right click on one of the hidden files with the attribute of HSA. Check to see if there is any authoring information if not its should be safe to say its a bad file. Lastly you can run the file against www.virustotal.com database to see if its bad.

If you need assistance with this you can always contact me.

I will post a picture after I load up the image module for this website.
